A little wind didn't prevent Kelly and Robb McCuistion from having their dream Koru Village Beach Klub wedding, and we had a blast filming it! Kelly looked amazing with hair and makeup services provided by Sofia Decker of Hot Heads. Kerri Catino-Nason with The Proper Setting pulled every detail together to make a beautiful wedding, and the last second ceremony switch to inside the dining area was hardly a speed bump. Steve Siegrist with By The Sea Weddings led the couple through a wonderful ceremony, which was followed by a a spectacular meal catered by Red Sky Cafe. Working alongside our film crew were Genevieve and Chad Stewart of Genevieve Stewart Photography. The photo-duo knows how to bring out the couple's personality and really capture some great moments, which all look great on video as well. The photobooth on hand by Coastal Photobooth surely led to some great moments on film too. After dinner, the band Proverbial played a killer set that got the whole party dancing. Their cover of The Jackson Five's "I Want You Back" was especially memorable. The dancing wasn't done when the band wrapped up, however, as the whole crew went down to an after party at the Open Water Grill in Avon. Glow sticks and and strobe lights filled the bar, and made a fantastic fun end to a great wedding day. Congrats to Kelly and Robb, and check out the trailer to their wedding video!
We loved filming Jennettes Pier Weddings and Tara and Chris's was nothing short of perfect! Our day started early where we met Tara and her bridesmaids at the Surf Side Hotel and Chris and his groomsmen at the Ramada Plaza. Helping Tara and her bridesmaids with hair was Amber with Bomb Shells Studio and Lauren with All Eyes on the Bride did an AMAZING job as always with the girls makeup. When we made our way over to the beach we were blown away with the setup that Holiday House and I DO OBX Chairs had done. Get a look at that custom built arbor, it was absolutely beautiful! Jay Bowman lead the ceremony and rocked it out as always even as the tide moved in. Once the ceremony concluded guests headed inside of Jennettes Pier while we conned to grab footage on such a beautiful day. We loved working alongside of Mary and Mac with Mary Basnight Photography, these two have a real passion for photography and always make it fun. When we entered the reception we were greeted by a truly unique array of colors provided by Blue Steele Lighting. If we could have John from Blue Steel at every wedding it would be amazing, uplighting really transforms any venue into something really amazing! Ocean Atlantic Events Rentals provided all of the rentals for the reception. Johnny Crook with Outer Banks Music Masters played all the right tunes for the ceremony and the reception. Ortega'z went above and beyond with the food for the reception, they also created homemade churros and ice-cream that really complimented the beautiful wedding cake created by Just Desserts. Guests enjoyed the totally awesome photo booth provided by The Shooting Gallery, which made for hours of fun at the reception! Pulling everything together and making sure that every detail went as planned was Kerri Catino-Nason with The Proper Setting. Kerri helped Tara and Chris from the beginning with the entire planning process and helped to create their dream wedding that they will never forget. We had such a great time working with all of these top-notch vendors and hope to work with them in the future!

Tiffany and David decided to have an intimate wedding ceremony and reception at The Grande Ritz Palm in Duck, North Carolina. Marie Russell with Bordeaux Events helped the couple throughout the planning process and created a perfect day that they will remember forever. Before Tiffany walked down the aisle her makeup and hair were done by Dimensions Hair Salon. Leading the ceremony was Dr. Dave Keller with Outer Banks Seaside Ceremonies, Dave always puts a personal touch on each ceremony that he performs. One Love Caribbean Steel Drum Band opened and closed the ceremony with some beautiful music to get the guests into a tropical mood. Following the ceremony Argyle's Catering met the bridal party and their family on the beach/sound access of the home with platted appetizers and drinks. Argyle's also made the beautiful cake you will see towards the end of the video. Snapping photos and making everyone feel comfortable in front of the lens was Rich Coleman with ColemanShots. Rich and his guys really go above and beyond to get great shots throughout the day! Sugar Snaps Events did all of the floral decor for the wedding and it looked amazing with the lighting provided by Renee Landry Events. All rentals for the event were provided by Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals. Coastal DJ & Video got the party started and kept the music pumping throughout the evening. We really enjoyed filming Tiffany and David's wedding, be sure to check out their wedding trailer below!

This is especially the case when it comes to your Outer Banks wedding photographer or videographer.
The right photos and videos can serve as a treasured keepsake not only for you and your partner, but also your children and grandchildren. That s why it s so important when you find the right folks for the job to book them well ahead of time! Let s take a closer look at why.
Popular Videographers Schedules Fill Up FastWhile a good photographer is hard to find, a great videographer is even tougher! Good video teams who produce quality work are rarely diamonds in the rough. They re usually incredibly popular and this being the case their schedules fill up quickly! Start your search for the perfect videographer well in advance and once you find them, book them right away.
Most wedding planning experts recommend at least 10 months in advance, but you are certainly free to ask your videographer-to-be directly what their requirements are. This is especially the case in Outer Banks, as it s the third most popular wedding location in all of the United States!
Advance Booking Gives Videographers Plenty of Time to PrepareGreat wedding photographers and videographers like to prepare for events they re going to shoot well in advance. Give yours plenty of time to gather the right equipment, make the proper arrangements, and see to it that every detail of what they bring to your wedding day is in place well in ahead of time. This is especially beneficial for location weddings or weddings that may present special shooting circumstances!
Lauren and Andrew's Nags Head Links wedding couldn't have been any more beautiful and we were so honored to be their videographer. The day started off with the girls and guys getting ready in separate locations in The Village of Nags Head. Lauren Gurski with All Eyes on the Bride did a fantastic job as always with the bridal party's makeup. Playing beautiful music from the beginning to the conclusion of the ceremony was Club Violin. Rev. Jay Bowman knocked it out of the park as usual with this sound side ceremony on the golf course. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour and appetizers created by Nags Head Links catering. We traveled along with the wedding party in the Corolla Trolley to get some footage and photos off site. Throughout the day we worked closely with Mary & Mac Basnight of Mary Basnight Photography. We had fun shooting alongside these fellow Canon gurus! Rachel Moser with Glam and Lace Weddings did a fantastic job with the planning and coordination throughout the day. Rachel and her team made sure that everything went exactly as Lauren and Andrew had dreamed of. Taking care of all of the big rentals including the magnificent tent was the crew at Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals. Upon entering the tent for the reception all off the details hit you! Holiday House Weddings went above and beyond with all of teals and decor for this wedding, we loved the arbor they created for the ceremony as well! Blue Steele Lighting Design did an amazing job setting the mood for the evening with the beautiful uplighting design. Uplighting ads an awesome element to any wedding! We've seen some incredible bands this year and Platinum Band is another one to add to the list. This group of talented musicians had the entire tent shaking all night long! The guests had a great time bouncing in and out of the photo booth provided by Photo Booth Snap Shots. The night wouldn't be complete without tasty treats from Cotton Candy Baking Company who created the cake and cupcakes.
Well without further delay, we present to you Lauren & Andrew's wedding trailer!

Megan and Michael decided to have a North Carolina Aquarium wedding on Roanoke Island. This was the first time that we have filmed a wedding at the Aquarium's new dock and the weather couldn't have been any more perfect for an outdoor ceremony! The day started out at It's Royalty in Manteo where Megan and all of her bride's maids were getting hair and makeup done. From here we left to head to the Aquarium to meet Michael and his groomsmen for pre-ceremony footage. Upon our arrival I DO OBX Chairs was setting up the chairs in preparation for the ceremony. Ocean Atlantic Rentals was also at the Aquarium setting up rentals inside for the reception. Bells and Whistles did a fantastic job with the bridal parties flowers and arrangements. The ceremony opened with beautiful music from Club Violin that was heard all the way down the dock as the bride made her grand entrance. Rev. Jay Bowman did an incredible job as always leading the ceremony as the couple exchanged vows over the Croatan Sound. After the ceremony we worked with the wedding party and bride and groom along side Outer Banks wedding photographer Rich Coleman of ColemanShots. Rich and his team are always such a blast to work with and had us all laughing throughout the day! The chef and catering staff at Black Pelican created some incredible dishes and were super friendly to work with. What would great food be with out a fabulous cake, that's exactly what Just Desserts created! As the reception got pumping, Matt Cooper with Outer Banks Music Masters kept the music going and the guests on the dance floor. Leading the show for the entire day was Beth Pallett with Engaging Events, Beth is a rockstar and made sure everything went exactly as the bridge and groom had envisioned! We had such a great time working with Megan and Michael for their North Carolina Aquarium wedding and we wish them all the best in the future! Check out their wedding day trailer below!

Dana & Craig are from Northern, Virginia and decided to have their wedding at The Grand Ritz Palm located in the Town of Duck. Duck NC weddings are special due to the fact that on one side you have the beautiful Currituck Sound and on the other the vast Atlantic Ocean. Dana and Craig opted to have their ceremony on the beach just across the street from the reception location. The weather couldn't have been any more perfect for a beach ceremony! Rev. Jay Bowman did a fantastic job officiating the ceremony as he always does. We especially loved his "beach-people" comment, too funny!! Heather Clark with A Premiere Event went above and beyond making sure that everything went exactly as the bride and groom had imagined it. We always have fun working with new photographers and Ashley Peterson was a true blast to shoot alongside with. Be sure to check out Ashley's beautiful blog post here that she did for the couple. We enjoyed everything about this wedding and wish Dana and Craig the very best!

Carova NC weddings are like no other, the seclusion of the picturesque Carova beaches make the location perfect. That's the exact reason Bridget & Chris decided to have their wedding at The Dream. This couple decided to do things just a little differently at the Dream by having their wedding on Penny Hill, which is actually the name of Bridget and Chris' daughter! How cool is that! Corolla Shuttle did a great job getting guests to and from the 4x4 beaches of Carova. Bombshells Studio provided hair and makeup services for the bridal party. The ceremony was lead by Bridget's uncle who did a fantastic job. Ceremony and Reception decor was provided by Renee Landry Events, Renee and her team an incredible job with all of the coordinating colors. Everything looked incredible! We worked alongside of Natalie Heim Photography, Natalie and her assistant did a great job working with the couple and families for all of the photographs throughout the day. Ocean Atlantic Rentals did a superb job setting up the tent over the deck at The Dream and also providing coordinating linens and wooden chairs to match the theme of the event. Marsha with Great Cakes went above and beyond by providing a different colored ruffle-single tier cakes for each table. It really was an incredible sight to see all of the cakes that Marsha had created for the event. Providing all of the yummy appetizers and entr es was Enchanted Cuisine. Their staff went above and beyond to cater to all of the guests needs. Running the show and making sure every last detail was perfect for the couple was the talented Heather Clark of A Premiere Event. Heather and her assistant were there every step of the way and made sure that everything went smoothly throughout the event. Keeping it fresh throughout the evening was DJ Bruce, who mixed great music to keep everyone out on the dace floor all night long!
Once again, a big congratulations to Bridget & Chris on their beautiful wedding and for making Reel Love Weddings a part of it! Enjoy their wedding trailer below!
Shooting Wedding Videos on the Beach What You Need to KnowWhen you specialize in shooting incredible wedding videos in a popular destination like the Outer Banks, knowing the ins and outs of shooting at the beach really comes in handy. Every location comes attached to a collection of special considerations, but the beach is a unique animal all its own. Let s take a closer look at what you need to know in order to shoot great Outer Banks beach weddings.
Protection for Your EquipmentThose of us in the photo and video industry are big on standards. We take our product seriously and most of us have made quite the investment in our equipment. That said, it s important to see to it that it s protected from sand, mist, and the elements. Deciding to have plenty of large plastic bags or tarps on hand could be the best decision you ever made! You can throw them over your expensive gear when the wind kicks up or if it s unexpectedly damp the day of your shoot.
Special Audio IssuesEven the mildest day at the beach is typically pretty windy. This can naturally present some unique issues when it comes to audio. People who shoot Outer Banks beach weddings always have extra wireless microphones on hand and make it a point to mike up all of the speakers to cut down on the wind noise blocking out any one person. Also, invest in wind screening covers for your mikes to help reduce noise. Don t have anything fancy on hand yet? Try covering larger mikes with pantyhose to help take the edge off wind interference.
Here at Baldwin Video Productions, we really know Outer Banks beach weddings and can guarantee you the quality keepsake videos you deserve. Let us put your Outer Banks wedding package together today!
We had the best time at The Sanderling Resort for Mary & Matt's beautiful wedding. The weather couldn't have been any more perfect as the couple exchanged vows oceanside on the resorts' lawn. Helping them along the way with their vows was Rev. Brad Bradshaw who did a fantastic job with the ceremony. Debbie Norris and her staff did a remarkable job with the steady flow of the event by making sure everything went according to plan. As you'll notice in the wedding trailer below, this wedding was packed with details! Dorothy and her team with Bells & Whistles created some truly stunning floral arrangements, from the bouquets to the elegant centerpieces that filled the tables. Another really neat element was the hanging chandelier created by Bells & Whistles. As the night went on guests enjoyed the photo booth provided by Shutter Booth. Shutter Booth also provided an album for guests to leave a photo in for the bride and groom with a special note, such a great idea! Snapping shots along the way was the super-taleneted Matt Lusk. Matt brings his fun personality to weddings and is always a real blast to work with! Blue Steel Lighting and Design did it once again, John and his crew worked hard to make sure everything at this event was lit perfectly! Did we mention the beautifully-blue cupcakes made by Great Cakes, they were AMAZING!! Uplighting and pin spot lighting adds such a unique look to any reception venue and makes it so much fun to film! Matching beats with the changing light patterns was DJ Bruce who kept everyone out on the dance floor all night long!

It's not every day that you film a South Nags Head wedding for two famous Nashville singer/songwriters! Karyn & Cory decided to have their wedding and reception at one of our favorite event homes, Take it to the Limit. This home offers a really nice and expansive floor plan that works great for indoor receptions. Flowers and Decor were created by Shirley from Sugar Snap Events. Shirley did an awesome job collaborating with one of Karyn's friend to create some beautiful centerpieces and reception decor. Karyn and Cory's intimate ceremony took place on the beach where the couple exchanged vows and Karyn's brother played ceremony music. We've seen Julie Dreelin a lot this year and it's always fun to work alongside someone who is passionate about their work like we are! We truly enjoyed this amazing couple and hope you enjoy the wedding trailer below. Congratulations to the Battens!!

Adrianne and Liam are from Northern Virginia and decided to escape the busy city and head south for their intimate Sanderling Resort wedding. The weather the day of was a little iffy and forced the ceremony to take place inside the pavilion. Debbie Norris and her staff did a fantastic job with the coordination and all of the little details to make the pavilion look incredible! After the ceremony the weather broke long enough to let us take them out for some footage while we worked alongside Julie Dreelin. Julie captured some beautiful photos from the day and was a blast to work with as always! As the night progressed DJ Bruce with "I Do" Entertainment and DJ Service kept the party alive as everyone danced the night away. Hiring a Wedding Videographer Versus a Photographer-Who-Also-Does-Videos What s the DifferenceWhen it comes to hiring the right professional to help you commemorate your wedding by capturing it on film, most people s focus is on finding a good photographer. If they think about wedding videos at all, it s often as an afterthought. Therefore, it s all too easy for them to miss the benefits of hiring a professional who is trained specifically in videography, as opposed to simply looking for a photographer who also shoots videos .
Although shooting videos is certainly related to photography, it s important to realize that it s its own unique art. This being the case, it comes along with its own nuances, rules, and techniques.
Moving Images Require Different Considerations Than Still ImagesWhile a good Outer Banks wedding photographer will certainly have the know-how necessary to spot a memorable image, as well as to line it up properly for the best in timeless appeal, he or she is not going to be as well-versed in the art of actually compensating for the fact that it s moving.
Living, breathing images come attached to their own set of concerns and details. There s not just movement to consider. There s also sound and the unique effects elements like lighting will have on a video. Only a trained videographer is really going to understand how to make those things work for them, rather than against them. It could actually mean the difference between capturing a moment and missing it and when it comes to events like weddings, that s everything.
The Right Team for the JobHere at Baldwin Video Productions, we specialize in bringing top-notch start to finish image production to the table for your wedding. This includes professional videography that will capture every nuance of your special day. Trust us to bring you the most amazing Outer Banks wedding packages on your special day!
Terra and Dan's Village Beach Club wedding was our first wedding to kick off the 2014 season in April! We had the best time working with this fun loving couple on their wedding day. Bonnie Williams of Hatteras Wedding Ministries lead a beautiful ceremony on the beach in Nags Head as the couple exchanged vows oceanside. Making sure that everything went smoothly throughout the day were Rachel and Gail with The Embellishers who also created the incredible table decor at the reception. Kicking off the reception and keeping everyone out on the dance floor was Alan Ross with Alan Ross Karaoke Roadshow. We had a great time shooting alongside Daniel and Kate with Daniel Pullen Photography, the Pullens are a lot of fun to work with and capture truly remarkable photos. How Color and Detail in Your Wedding Scheme Can Really Add to Your Wedding VideographyMany people go to great pains in order to ensure that they have the right wedding videographer for the job and with good reason. Your wedding videography is going to be your way of traveling back in time to that special day and reliving it whenever you want. It will also be a legacy that you pass down to your children and grandchildren so that they will also be able to share your greatest moment with you into the future.
It s true that a videographer with a terrific eye is an important part of your memories. However, the look and visual appeal of your wedding video can be improved even further by your choice of wedding themes, colors, and details. Some options show up better in HD than others!
Choose Vibrant Color CombinationsWhether you re planning your own color scheme or working with a wedding coordinator to put together a theme that really pops, selecting a color combination that works well together can really make your video sing. Weddings don t have to be just white, ivory, and beige. Try making the traditional neutrals pop with accents in complementary colors or shades reminiscent of the season. You ll love how they look on TV.
Details Can Really Make a PictureMany brides choose to add unusual or personal details to their wedding theme in order to not only set their ceremony apart, but to add visual appeal to the scene and contribute to the building of a mood. Details like these can also make videos come out terrific as well. Try adding unusual, but classic touches to wedding party outfits like parasols or gloves. Themed d cor that features lots of thoughtful touches can help set a scene as well.
Let us help you make the perfect memories by giving your carefully selected wedding theme the Outer Banks wedding videography treatment it deserves.
